We built a small farmstand and started offering eggs and excess produce from our small homestead. When the pandemic hit, food was harder to find and many community members lost their jobs. We decided to start offering our items for free and when gardening season was over, we offered shelf stable food seasonally. We knew we could do more.
We started raising money for a 4 season pantry. The community response was overwhelming and we quickly had the funds to build our dream stand. The community gathered on weekends and week nights and completed the stand in time for our planned reopening on May 21st.
The stand is open 24/7 to anyone that needs help getting through a few meals. Anonymously. No judgement. No shame.
These ideas led us to our current mission:
Big Love, Inc. is a self-serve pantry dedicated to providing food and essentials to any community member in need with dignity and compassion.
